A Chilly Challenge for a Great Cause
In just a few short weeks, I will be braving icy waters, swimming from Point Lonsdale to Point Nepean without a wetsuit. 3.5kms in open water. The conditions will be very cold - around 12 degrees - but my friends James, Zac, and I have been training hard and acclimatising to prepare for the challenge.
This isn't just any swim - it's a mission with deep personal meaning. We are raising money for Monash Children's Hospital, a place that is particularly special for James' family. James' daughter, Eloise, has osteogenesis imperfecta ('brittle bone disease'), a rare condition that has made her first year of life very challenging. The support and care Eloise and her family have received from the hospital has been extraordinary.
Our goal is to raise funds to help the many children facing difficult situations who rely on the expertise and compassion of Monash Children's Hospital. Every donation will make a significant difference, ensuring that many more families can receive the same support that Eloise has experienced.
Please support us in our swim and help us reach our fundraising goal. Your generosity will have a lasting impact on countless young lives. Thank you!
