This will be my first Chain Reaction Challenge, having been a sponsor and admirer of past events. I’ve been inspired by the incredible impact the Challenge has on the supported charities, with such significant funds raised. I have also loved seeing the dedication of the participants tackling these immense daily distances and elevations, both in training and during the event itself.
I love cycling and the sense of teamwork that comes with riding together. I’m really looking forward to getting stuck in alongside the other riders—pushing ourselves and supporting each other to get around this amazing route together.
Supporting So They Can and Hope Street is something I feel deeply about. As a father of three young kids, helping children who are less fortunate—both here in Australia and around the world—feels incredibly important.

Big Toe Injury!
I should have stuck to riding my bike!Unfortunately, I broke my big toe playing Sydney 20/20 Cricket in early February which has meant a refocus in relation to my CR training. After two weeks of recoup I have been able to slowly re introduce Zwift training on my indoor trainer.
During this time I have been inspired by Matt Haymans 2016 Paris Roubaix win. He trained almost exclusively on Zwift after breaking his arm just 6 weeks out from the "Hell of the North". I figured if he could pull that off on the cobbles then I should be able to get around CR with a broken toe. He actually has a training session on Zwift which is equally excellent and difficult. I hope it will help me gain fitness during this little setback. Hoping to be out on the road again very soon.
