In November 2022, our world was turned upside down when our 3-year-old daughter, Lexi, was diagnosed with cancer in her kidney. For the next 18 months, we spent countless days and nights in and out of the hospital, facing challenges we never imagined.
Throughout this difficult journey, the Starlight Express Room at the Royal Children’s Hospital was often the only source of joy for Lexi and our family. This incredible space has provided much-needed relief and happiness during some of our darkest times. The job of the Starlight Captains is to take away all the worries and fears of sick children, and put them back in control….with a simple objective – HAVING FUN!
We are thrilled to share that Lexi is now through the worst of her treatment and has a very positive prognosis for a happy and healthy life.
I am raising funds to support the Starlight Childrens Foundation and the Monash Children’s Hospital so that other families can experience the same comfort and joy that we did. Your generosity can make a world of difference. Thank you for your support!
I'm taking on an extraordinary cycling challenge with Chain Reaction. Over just 7 days, I'll be covering an impressive 1,000 kilometres as part of the 2025 Chain Reaction Challenge in the North Island of New Zealand. My personal fundraising goal is $15000.
I will be captaining the Starlight team in this year's challenge, and I can't wait to hit the road with my fellow riders over the ditch!
For the past 17 years, Chain Reaction Challenge Foundation has been raising funds to support children's charities through corporate cycling challenges. Through their efforts, they’ve already helped over 60 children's charities and raised an impressive $43 million to support kids in need.
ABOUT THE CHARITIES IM SUPPORTING
Monash Children’s Hospital is one of the busiest pediatric healthcare services in Australia who care for more than 100,000 children every year. They are one of only two major tertiary children’s healthcare services in Victoria. They care for children and young people at their main site co-located with Monash Medical Centre in Clayton, with satellite services at Casey Hospital and Dandenong Hospital. They provide leading pediatric services in Rehabilitation, Oncology, Pediatric Intensive Care and Palliative Care.
Starlight Children's Foundation know that happiness matters to sick kids facing the pain, fear and stress of serious illness. Starlight helps kids of all ages regardless of disability, injury or illness because what happens in childhood lasts a lifetime. Starlight works in partnership with health professionals to provide the happiness, play and creativity that helps to boost sick kids’ health and wellbeing.
