Help me support kids in need (and beat a world champion in my fundraising!)
I have signed up again to push myself to the limit riding 1000km over hilly terrain - probably with rain - all to support children and families. The ventilators we are hoping to fund will support newborns and children with crticial illness at Monash Children's Hospital as we care for them. As they recover, we hope they will be brightened up by the Starlight Captains. I may not be fast enough to beat Grace Brown (ITT gold medallist and world champion 2024) but I hope to beat her in fundraising. Please donate to support me in my quest. My Activity Tracking

My Updates

I have arrived at the start line
Flew in to Auckland yesterday and my bike arrived with me. Had dinner with another paediatrician last night and trying to adjust to the two hour time difference with a ride in the gym today. Waiting for the rest of the team to arrive and get our bikes reassembled this afternoon before the final safety briefing tonight.I am still short of my fundraising target so will put out some reminder please or you can donate again. CHildren and families are relying on us - dig deep please.

Less than 2 weeks to go - I need your help
I've been doing the training, serviced my bike and now getting down to the final preparations. The whole purpose of this ride is to raise much needed funds for our charity partners though. I need your help to dig deep and donate. At Monash Children's Hospital, we have the expertise to save lives but need the best equipment to optimise that care. This year we are raising funds for ventilators in our intensive care units and also for the rare children who need a home ventilator. Please donate and spread the word to others so that we can achieve our dream of saving more lives. Share
First generous donation (from a potential future CFO)
This week, an enterprisig 11yo patient decided to charge $5 every time a doctor listened to his chest. It was wonderful to see him looking better and go home today. He loves soccer but I told him about my Chain Reaction Challenge. Fortunately he didn't need a ventilator or intensive care during his hospital stay but his family donated the $380 to my fundraising page. I am humbled and blessed by the families I meet. Thank you.(I would happily support his application to become our future "Chief Financial Officer" at Monash Health)

Let the training begin

This week, the early morning starts on Tuesday and Thrusday with other CR riders began. It was wonderful to learn from our coach BJ again and meet both new and past riders again.
